Milly Peck
Milly Peck (b.1990) is a British artist working across painting, sculpture, drawing and installation. currently living and working in London. She holds an MA in Sculpture from The Royal College of Art (2014-16) and a BFA from The Ruskin School of Art, Oxford University in 2012.
Working at the slip between two and three-dimensions, Peck creates often cartoonish imagery depicting and altering mundane scenes drawn from the everyday and domestic environment. Cropped tightly into smaller, more considered viewpoints, her work attempts to create a sense of staged liveness similar to a theatrical set. Peck’s sculptural work is often site-specific, responding to existing architectural and historical features of a site. Peck’s prop-like constructions are reflective of her broader interest in theatre and the stage. Both within her sculptural work and her drawings on paper, Peck explores elements of fakery and imitation present within the everyday, revealing the comedic potential of this context.
